I have made this page available to you, because I have a strong belief that self-education and between session work is crucial to the healing journey. I want you to have access to resources that help you to support yourself and build on the work we've been doing together during our sessions
I make myself available, in a minimal way, between our sessions. If there's something going on, or you've had a breakthrough, or you just want to let me know how you are going, you are welcome to contact me at any time via email huntervalleywalkandtalk@gmail.com
Please note that I may not get back to you the same day you message me, and my response will only be an acknowledgement of your sharing - we'll save the actual discussion for our in-session work.
If you are experiencing a crisis and in need of someone to talk with immediately, please contact:

I'm sharing these videos with you, as I will often utilise Acceptance and Commitment Therapy principles in the work I do with you.
One of the activities we will most likely complete in the first few sessions is the Choice Point - this video explains what that is and what we'll be doing. If you scroll to the bottom of this page, you'll see a file called 'a bunch of choice points', download and have a look at this, you can even give it a go, if you think you'd like to.
Another concept you'll learn about during therapy is the 'observer self' - that part of you that 'notices'. This video explains what that means.
The work we do together is values based. We work to identify your values and then craft your life so that it is aligned with the values you want to stand for. This video helps you understand why.
Another important activity for you to do, is this strengths assessment - it's lengthy, so it's better if you can do this prior to session. Just be sure to save your results so we can discuss them.
You will need to sign in to complete the assessment, but it's not spammy - I've had an account there for years and I never hear from them.
This 'shaking' video is fantastic for getting stuck feelings flowing again. You'll feel invigorated and energised after you've done these moves!
NB - Please be mindful of your health limitations - if you are likely to pull a muscle or injure yourself, give this one a miss.
I LOVE Qigong. I find it to be such a beautiful, gentle way to start my day. I've included two Qigong instructors I follow, but there are so many more exercises to explore on YouTube.
Kseny is my particular favourite - she has heaps of great Qigong videos on her channel.
Occasionally I will introduce 'tapping' into our sessions, otherwise known as EFT. This is when we tap on particular meridian points (energy lines) as a way of releasing some of the trauma and unhelpful beliefs we have stored in our body. Watch the video to glean some understanding into what it is, and how it works.

Dr Nicole LePera has, in my opinion, some of the best personal development/mental health content you'll ever come across. Her stuff is THE BOMB.

Mel Robbins is another 'must' to follow. She is real and her no-nonsense, cut the bullshit approach is refreshing and inspiring.
