Welcome to The Threshold

Women's Monthly Self-Discovery Group

The Threshold is a monthly, therapist-created and led group for midlife women who are starting to wonder how their early experiences might still be shaping their present.

Why 'The Threshold'?

Because there’s a point between where you are now and where you’d like to be. A threshold you step across when you finally decide that it's time to do something different because the old ways just aren't working anymore.

It's a place to meet with yourself, and other women, where you can build inner resources, test your voice, and know you’re not alone.

Each gathering is a chance to pause, reconnect with yourself, and gently explore themes that matter: boundaries, self-compassion, younger selves, relational needs, and more.

You don’t have to commit to every session. Come once, come occasionally, or return every month. Each circle stands alone, but together they create a path of insight, connection, and tools you can carry into daily life.

This group will offer you supported practical steps to help you:

  • Feel safer in your own skin

  • Understand where some of your patterns came from

  • Begin tending to the parts of you that have long been neglected

  • Build an emotional support kit to hold you in the in-between

It’s not group therapy and it’s not just 'self-help'. It’s something in between - an heart-focused, therapist-guided offering to help you find begin healing little you, while adult you imagines a new way forward.

Who is this for?

This group is for women who:

  • Feel a persistent sense of something’s not quite right in their lives.

  • Notice themselves snapping, shutting down, people-pleasing, or overthinking -and wonder if it links back to their earlier life experiences in some way.

  • Carry childhood wounds they’ve tried to minimise with thoughts like “others had it worse” or “my parents did their best” - yet the truth is, the impacts of even 'well meaning' parenting, are still felt today.

  • Crave meaningful, soul-level connection with other women, beyond surface-level chit-chat.

  • Want to explore self-support and resilience in a gentle, guided way.

There are 6 spaces available in each group.

You can read the reviews from my recent Embers & Earth group, to see how other women have experienced working with me.

Sounds great! Sign me up!

NOt everyone is ready for 1:1 therapy - and that's ok. THere is another way...

What to Expect

Private Group Support (Optional)

A private Facebook group will be available for those who’d like to stay connected, share reflections, or access bonus content between sessions.
There's no expectation for you to participate if it's not your thing.

Monthly, In-Person Sessions

We’ll meet once a month for 2 hours in a quiet, welcoming space in Morpeth (it is a shoes off venue).

Each 2-hour gathering includes:

  • Grounding Practices – simple ways to help you arrive, settle, and feel safe in the space.
  • Inner Child Exploration – guided reflections, journaling, and creative activities (sometimes including the use of dolls or metaphorical tools) to gently connect with the younger parts of you.
  • Sharing Circle – an optional space to share what’s coming up for you, and to witness and be witnessed by other women walking a similar path.
  • Practical Takeaways – each session you’ll leave with a simple, usable tool for building emotional resilience and supporting yourself day to day.

Every month stands alone, but together they begin to form a tapestry of insight, self-compassion, and quiet strength.

September: Meeting the Exiled Self

November: Shame, Secrets, and the Good Girl Script

September: Meeting the Exiled Self

So many women grew up believing certain feelings: anger, sadness, even joy - were “too much” and had to be hidden.

This month is about recognising those “exiled” parts of yourself and welcoming them back home. Through gentle reflection and guided imagery, you’ll explore what it’s like to hold space for feelings you’ve long avoided.

We’ll also begin building our personalised self-care toolboxes - with items, practices, and rituals that help us feel safer, calmer, and more resourced.

October: The Body Remembers

November: Shame, Secrets, and the Good Girl Script

September: Meeting the Exiled Self

Our inner child doesn’t just live in memory - she lives in the body.

This session explores somatic practices to notice where old hurts are stored physically (tight chest, clenched jaw, hollow belly) and how to offer your body the comfort and grounding it didn’t get back when it needed it most.

November: Shame, Secrets, and the Good Girl Script

November: Shame, Secrets, and the Good Girl Script

November: Shame, Secrets, and the Good Girl Script

Many women carry childhood shame like a secret weight.

Maybe you were told you were “too sensitive,” “too needy,” or “not enough.” Perhaps when bad things happened, you were told it was 'your fault'.

This month, we’ll explore how shame shapes our self-image and relationships, and practise tender antidotes: self-compassion, truth-telling, and dismantling the “good girl” role.

December: The Protective Armour

March: Belonging and the Longing to Be Seen

November: Shame, Secrets, and the Good Girl Script

Hyper-independence, people-pleasing, withdrawing - all of these are armour your inner child forged to survive.

We’ll gently honour the intelligence behind these defences, while beginning to imagine what life could feel like with softer, more flexible protection.

February 2026: Play, Joy, and Permission

March: Belonging and the Longing to Be Seen

March: Belonging and the Longing to Be Seen

Healing the inner child isn’t just about tending wounds - it’s also about reclaiming joy.

This month, we explore the magic to be found in  play and creativity.

You’ll reconnect with the parts of you that once delighted in simple pleasures and explore what play could look like for you now.

March: Belonging and the Longing to Be Seen

March: Belonging and the Longing to Be Seen

March: Belonging and the Longing to Be Seen

So many of our deepest wounds are relational: the longing to be seen, known, and loved as we are.

This session invites reflection on your patterns of belonging and rejection, and offers ways to practise being witnessed with tenderness - both by yourself and within the safety of the group.

I'm ready to begin!

Being held and witnessed by a group of women who get you is powerful.
